I am a member of the Fabric team that is part of the RIG group within the Scientific Computing Department. I have fingers in many pies, but my main roll currently is managing the automated tape library systems that are used to store the scientific data from various experiments both on-site such as ISIS and Diamond, and from international experiments such as CERN. In previous years I managed the Cray super computers that were hosted at RAL such as the XMP/YMP/J90.
My first degree was a BSc in Physics and Chemistry followed some years later by a MSc in Information Technology. This is what lead me to working at RAL.
