Noel Vizcaino has a BSc in Computing from the University of Abertay Dundee and a MSc in Applied Computing Technologies from University of Northumbria.
As a Software Architect, he developed commercial IoT and Fleet Management systems, including embedded client solutions.
Prior to joining STFC, Noel gained a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Reading with a thesis entitled "Software Evolution: Hypergraph based model of solution space and meta-search". This research combined computational intelligence techniques and complex systems concepts to open avenues to strategically automate the software engineering development process.
Noel is also an advocate for the use of international standards and the adoption of practices from the Software Engineering body of knowledge.
While in the STFC's Scientific Computing Department, his projects are DAFNI (Data Analytics Facility for National Infrastructure) and OSP (Open Data Portal).
