Multilevel Overlapping Schwarz Preconditioner
In this work a theoretical algebraic study of two-level overlapping Schwarz preconditioners is presented. Based on local SPSD splitting matrices of the matrix A, it is shown how to build an efficient coarse space. The computation of these local SPSD splitting matrices is costly in general. However, if the matrix is arising from a PDE discretization, we show how to construct cheaply and fully algebraically a hierarchy of such matrices allowing to construct multilevel efficient coarse spaces that bound the condition number of the preconditioned matrix at each level by a prescribed number.
