I am a Research Software Engineer based at RAL. My primary interest is in High Performance Computing, and providing software that scales to many cores on modern, high end architectures. I specialise in doing so for Materials Modelling software; I am an author of the ab intio code CRYSTAL, a major contributor to DL_POLY and have code in a number of other HPC applications. I was also a member of the Project Evaluation Team for the procurement of the Archer 2 national supercomputing service, an £80M project.
Before joining RAL, I was an RSE fellow at Oxford University, and previous to that worked in the private sector. In ancient history I obtained a D.Phil from Oxford.
