Current challenges to the development and sustainability

In this talk I will cover some of the current challenges facing those engaged in the development of research software, including improving diversity and inclusion, upskilling the research community, understanding how we accrue credit for working on research software, and what FAIR and reproducibility might mean in the future. Alongside this, I will consider what the role is for RSEs and group leaders in addressing these challenges.
