​I joined the STFC graduate scheme in 2021 after an MPhys in Physics with Astronomy at Cardiff University. I have completed a rotation in the Research Infrastructure Group and will be moving to Data and Software Engineering Group for my next 6 month project.

I spent my time in the Research infrastructure Group working on curating and serving astronomy survey images on the Echo (S3) Object Store. This involved me developing scripts to ingest survey images into Echo storage and then transfer data across while measuring performance. I also tested that data rights can be enforced correctly, restricting access to image data on Echo, to a defined set of astronomers. In addition to testing simple workflows from both local (RAL) and remote (Edinburgh) VMs on Openstack Clouds.​​
