Jian Fang is currently a senior research scientist in Scientific Computing Department, DL, STFC. He has graduated with BEng and PhD in Fluid Mechanics from Beihang University (China). His PhD research focused on direct-numerical simulations (DNSs) of shock-wave/turbulence interaction. He then worked as a Post-Doctoral Researcher at Beihang University (2012-2014) to develop turbulence models for shock-wave/boundary layer interaction (SWBLI). In 2013 JF was awarded a Leverhulme Visiting Fellowship to conduct large-eddy simulations (LESs) of 3-D SWBLI at the University of the West of England. Over the past decade, JF's research has focused on high-performance computing, CFD software development, DNS/LES, SWBLI, Turbulence modelling and Flow Control.
